Doesn’t surprise me. The West End weather station is in quite a sheltered location. Well, as is the Perth Road Dundee. The airport was recording a steady 40mph with gusts to 60 since it is exposed to the SW winds!

Just a little windier down at the River #tay at the airport. But still not crazy like it was with the last storm.

The EGPN station is due South of this one but right by the river. Windy.com confuse the two unfortunately…

METAR reports averages over 10 mins for wind speed/direction as does this station. So the figures are directly comparable. EGPN only updates every 30 mins though…. Definitely a lot windier down on the river!

I think EGPN and other airports only update every 30 mins so the wind speeds they show are the strongest during that period.
