Friday flaneur

Great afternoon at the Leith San Siro earlier today.

Underrated venue. Seen some great shows here over the years.

Near my bit. I like the pile up of housing styles around here: traditional sandstone tenement, post war high rises, and brick local authority built mock tenements - one of the few examples of successful inner city rehousing within Glasgow itself (rather than new schemes) in 50s/60s.

What a day out with some of the best folk in fair auld Scotia. Love a Scottish cup adventure.

Today’s draw against the Always the Bridesmaids rounds off a very good festive period for Hibernian FC. Good fun. The storied club of Scottish football begin their 150th year in characteristically entertaining fashion.

And up to the three brethren. I’ve been coming up here since I was a wee boy and every time I feel a deep peace doing so. Somewhere in my chest, a physical feeling. I try and hold on to that for when I’m back in the city and the Shit Times and Difficult Days come around.

Corbie Linn. Folk have lived around here for thousands of years. There’s a Neolithic settlement across the burn.
