years ago, a raccoon would come in an open 2nd floor window to eat the cats' food. they quite rightly usually stayed far far away; though eventually I had to keep it shut (hellish in the summer) because I was worried they might be injured by it at some point

I say green!

oh, that's not fun! I'm so sorry for the painful fall, and resultant after-effects, but it's good you could get the assistance you needed, and also you enjoyed a good lunch, and for free.

here's hoping there are no further problems, and the aches aren't too severe tomorrow

oh man, that sounds amazing fun! i'm going to check out the YT channel and see what's there already

yeah, I've no idea what happened to all the slides my parents had - I can remember them hauling out the projector to have a slideshow on the livingroom wall. lots of family and vacations in the state memorialized that way, all lost as far as I know
December 10, 2025 at 6:37 PM
oh man, I remember doing that! haven't done it since the late 70s and haven't missed it at all
December 8, 2025 at 7:58 PM
me too. and I volunteered with the Quilt when it came to Portland in the late 80s, and went with a friend to the DC exhibit on the mall a little while later on.

my dad had polio as a kid - he luckily recovered without major physical effects, but you can bet his kids were vaccinated. I barely remember being very young, lined up in a crowded school gym and given a sugar cube.

mom canned or froze tons in the summer - all sorts of fruits were frozen, canned or made into jam, bread & butter pickles, and apple and rhubarb sauce. it was lots of work and with no AC made the kitchen incredibly hot, but saved money and we could enjoy the results throughout the year
November 24, 2025 at 7:05 PM
oh I do like those! mom made them every summer, and it was always keen to pull a jar off the canning room shelf.

I do hope they affirm that it's fine for you!

my day was fine - the evening went kinda sideways, but I'm home with my feet up, trying to forget the goat rope. and it's the weekend, so that's nice.

❤️ hope your own weekend goes well ❤️

I'm very fond of lemon ginger tea - no caffeine, lively fresh flavour; also nice for sore throats
November 21, 2025 at 10:09 PM
yummy! (and kinda messy, in the best way)

if Premier Protein is approved, I admit to not having tried most of the other options, but I recommend both the caramel and cafe latte flavours. chocolate is ok, chocolate peanut butter tolerable.
November 16, 2025 at 7:18 PM
oh neat! that looks great
November 16, 2025 at 8:39 AM

the Eerie Elementary series is greatly enjoyed by nephews, ages 8 and 4
November 14, 2025 at 9:08 PM
it's totally a scam. every week I have to do it all over again!
November 9, 2025 at 5:47 AM
god, I'm so sorry. I've had nights like that with my right leg, and it totally sucks. hope you can get some good sleep soonest
November 8, 2025 at 8:14 AM
I'm sorry, but the earthling cannot possibly be 17. I still remember how confused the teacher was when I sent some toys to kindergarten!
