Robert Hunt, scientist, photographer, antiquarian, died this day 1887. His books, including "Popular Romances of the West of England or The Drolls, Traditions and Superstitions of Old Cornwall" has been mined over the years by Tor Mark Press for several of their booklets on Cornwall. #OTD #OnThisDay

Just finished reading "Stories of the Strange and Sinister" by Frank Baker. More strange than sinister, but very good. Several have a Cornish setting, Baker of course having lived there for various periods of his life. Recommended.

David Low, cartoonist died this day 1963.
"I always had the greatest difficulty in making Lloyd George sinister in a cartoon. Every time I drew him, however critical the comment, I had to be careful or he would spring off the drawing board as a loveable cherubic little chap" #OTD #OnThisDay
