The real problem is that they are on platforms that reinforce their shitty views, guided by people that gain from manipulating their opinions. If they ended up on a site like this instead, they would at least be exposed to other opinions and hopefully be influenced by them to some extent.

Not sure I fully agree. While I think some are misguided or undereducated, many are cheering on the suffering of others. Many are in full support of the dismantling of our government so a few billionaires can rob us blind. At what point do we stop just giving them a slap on the wrist?
