I dream that about my snake all the time. I think it’s my subconscious trying to tell me that I’m forgetting or avoiding something important.

A day later it occurred to me that I might be missing interactions because I didn’t fuckin tag anyone that would want to read it 🤦🏻‍♀️

My point still remains.

And I know, readers don’t “owe” writers anything, and I should write for myself, but it’s damn tough sometimes when I put so much time and energy into something and get absolutely nothing in return. 6/6

And asked if there would be more. My initial thought was “why didn’t you say something when you read it??”. Obviously I didn’t say that.

My point is, if you as a reader enjoy something and want more of it, don’t be surprised if you give no indication of that and then there’s nothing else. 5/

It was incredibly discouraging and put me off writing in general for months. I realized last night that sometimes tumblr just won’t show people my stuff sometimes, so I reblogged it and asked if anyone had seen it. By this morning, one person had reblogged it and said that they loved it. 4/

I was nervous about this because I know that /OCs typically don’t do as well as /readers. I decided to see how well the one-off did and see if I would keep my OC based on response. After nearly three months on tumblr, zero notes. Not gonna lie, that hurt, a lot. I was crushed. 3/

I’ll use my own experience as an example here. I have a long fic that started as /reader, but I’m changing it to /OC. I wrote a short one-off set within the timeline of the long fic with the OC and posted it as a kind of soft introduction to the character. 2/

This is exactly why I came here, tumblr is a joke now
