Especially the plot point where Elizabeth has the throne between the first and second games and the empire just continues, where there’s some token Good Leader stuff mentioned but she makes no effort to address the evil and contradictions in the world that are only bad when the bad guy does it.

I love the games but the politics always felt weird. Especially the whole plot point of everything becoming good and normal again when the Good Monarch gets the throne. Pay no attention to all of the evil and death this system perpetuates, Liz is back. Shut up and brunch now.
