This happened to me when I was walking to work. I was literally just crossing the street dressed normally. It was a man.

Anyone who tells you to just "diet" and they're only "worried about your health" is lying to you. The truth is they've been conditioned to find your body disgusting, and the whole "health" debate is a smoke screen. Everyone is deserving of basic human decency, even if they're unhealthy. #fatphobia

In every one of these instances I was alone. These things never happen when I'm around other people. I am a size 24, 3x. I can only imagine what awful things are being said and done to people larger than me

A couple years ago I was walking home from work and a man followed me down the street yelling about how I was disgusting, and how what I was wearing was ugly and how my mom should be ashamed of me. He chased me and wouldn't stop until I got to the end of the block and crossed the street

A few months ago I was sitting on a bus full of peopl (in the back) and a woman stood in front of me, pointed at me, and yelled about how I was "fat and disgusting" for a whole minute. No one said anything, but everyone turned to look at me.

Last week I was walking to work and as I was crossing the street a man hung his head out the passenger side window and made a loud sound of disgust, as if my appearance made him physically ill. There was no one else around

Today I was on the bus and sat next to a guy who was previously sitting next to a thin woman. I was not touching him or in his space in any way, but he glared at me, moved over a seat, and made a point to put his stuff between us. That sucked.

If you start feeling like a certain group of people doesn't deserve their lives, I need you to have a conversation with yourself. Because as justified as you think it is, there are people on the far right who feel equally as justified.

If you dehumanize everyone who disagrees with you, eventually no one is human, and you won't see any reason to continue on. It's a dangerous and scary path, and one that's very easy to fall down when you're in a constant state of anger. I know this from watching it happen to people around me.

I NEED you to be angry and feel your feelings but don't let your anger be your ONLY vessel. Lead with love, compassion, kindness, and let people be wrong and correct their mistakes.

When we can do that we can change minds and come together. Everyone is human, vulnerable, and ignorant sometimes.

And STOP with the generation wars. I know I've thrown genZ under the bus a few times, but now I'm here to say this isn't a genZ specific issue, it's an issue with young people being radicalized by social media. And not having the skills to see through propaganda

Be angry. Be sad. Go to therapy. Buy a punching bag. Start journaling (NOT on social media). Do art. Make music. Go to the gym. Meditate. Get together with your friends over a bottle of wine and talk about why you're angry. That way when the revolution needs you you can stay calm and think fast

Young people need to listen to experienced activists who have been doing this for decades, and stop calling them "feds" or "liberals" because they can see nuance you can't.

When you're in a constant state of anger you're more likely to fall for propaganda, and you're more likely to act irrationally and put people on the front lines at risk.

We're seeing this with a lot of young activists falling for right wing propaganda targeted at Democrats.
