Insurance companies are becoming more and more unlikely to insure anyone with even a slight chance of filing a large claim. Mostly home insurance, but it's really across the board.

It's all just greed. It's always been greed. Profits, even record profits, are simply never enough.

Noooo! Not Soos!

Yeah. Look, he helped make wrestling what it is today. Respect on that front. But he was a bitch to many along the way, and has championed hateful messaging for decades. He's just, well, old. His time has long since passed.

It's pretty wild how most understood politicians largely lie and only seek their own self-interests for centuries to what we see today. A significant number of people are really ride-or-die with politicians, and even have favorites now.

Well, not all Christians or religious people. Kristin is notably religious. She just doesn't push her faith on others and isn't an asshole towards others like many in her religion.

Kristen is a model individual in how you can still be religious and not be an asshole towards people and actually display compassion and kindness towards them.

A shocking idea for many to wrap their heads around for some reason.

It's incredibly frustrating. I grew up never seeing any gay characters on screen, or I'm books, and wondering why no one like me seemed to exist. So to see it happening to trans people today is disheartening.

If gender identity is truly a concern, Disney, and everyone else, needs to remove ALL references to it in their products. That is, of course impossible. So what we'll see is trans being targeted because it's a minority, and minorities have and will always be targeted.
December 18, 2024 at 6:41 AM
So the real issue isn't that they think gender identity is something parents should discuss with their kids. The issue is that 'Win Or Lose' was going to feature a trans character, and they have a problem representing a trans storyline in their product if a straight storyline gets the clear.

Any sort of love interest is expressing gender identity. Any sort of behavior that affirms male or female characteristics as perceived by someone is gender identity. It's not just Disney, obviously. Gender identity is simply natural and a part of every story or character ever.
December 18, 2024 at 6:41 AM
over, and that it's an issue for parents to discuss with their kids, so why mention the character is straight? That's still including gender identity in a storyline. Do they realize how many stories in their vast catalogue contains gender identity in the story or characters?

I'm always surprised this one never really connected. The 3 strength makes her very vulnerable against Ruby, yes. I think if she had a 4/7 stat line she'd be a staple in SteelSong.

You can make some good TLM decks in a couple ink combinations. Amber/Steel and Amethyst/Ruby in particular.

I've been testing a "The Queen" deck out lately, Amber/Sapphire, so Snow White is my current answer. It's not all from Snow White, of course, but might still be decent by adding the Dwarfs.

So is getting upset a live action remake of a film you enjoyed 20 years ago really worth it? Your original film is still there. You don't have to watch a remake of it if you don't want to. But others probably do. And it'll be a fresh story for a new generation.

Getting upset feels unnecessarily.

Movie companies have certainly become revenue hungry. Nothing is really going to change that. But these remakes do also create a lot of jobs for young people, behind and in front of the camera, getting into the industry. And sometimes remakes are pretty great...
December 12, 2024 at 1:57 AM
So... I don't really understand the negativity surrounding remake announcements. The original still exists. And in most cases a remake comes out for a new generation of people. Is money a driving factor? Yeah, the film industry is a business. Making money is important...

A film released in the 2000s or early 2010s doesn't feel that long ago, but it really is. A kindergartner who watched Tangled in theaters could very well have a kindergartner of their own whenever the live-action remake of it gets released for example. That's a lot of time.
