my life in monochrome
it’s insane how cheap and efficient ebikes are. it’s even more energy/co2 efficient than growing the food energy needed to pedal a bike with your own legs!

probably for the best. video passthrough has tons of potential left to build on, and transparent ar glasses are already hitting their physical limits but still aren’t that great

i wonder if the new homepod with a screen that’s supposed to come out later this year will be something just like this but with advanced siri to set it up for you

DeepSeek doesn't have a right to distill OpenAI's models. it's one thing to create something new with someone else's IP, but it's another thing to create the exact same thing using someone else's IP.

but personally I think we should eliminate IP altogether so I really don't care either way

ToS are absolutely legally enforceable, it's just a civil case not a criminal case. And no one has actually proven that Sora was trained on YouTube videos and Google has not made any action against OpenAI about that.

no scenario? you seem to be misunderstanding how ai, copyright law, and TOS work then. would love to have a conversation about it once you learn up
January 30, 2025 at 12:48 PM
one was legal and the other was illegal, what's ironic about that...

welcome to the war on zoning laws!
January 24, 2025 at 1:36 PM
not to mention the only infrastructure dedicated to us is *crossings* of i-94. there isn’t even a conversation on the fact that the east-west corridor is fully dedicated to cars and nothing else.
January 18, 2025 at 4:26 PM
mndot doesn’t care about minnesotans, they care about cars. that’s why they put up fences blocking off sidewalks, refuse to reduce vmt, and fully ignore their own community surveys
January 18, 2025 at 4:21 PM
we should just fully shut down i-94 for a few months and do an actual traffic study to see the impacts. we learned a lot about how resilient our road network is when 35W bridge was down.

i’m beyond pissed off at this. why even give people hope, waste our time, and ask for community input if they’re just gonna choose options that maintain the status quo? this is no different than literally any other highway project. “rethinking” my ass.
January 18, 2025 at 4:05 PM
that’s cool but not really the kind of “smart” we’re talking about here
January 15, 2025 at 11:29 PM
as someone who hand washes dishes and has a basic fridge, i’m genuinely curious as to what smart features of a dishwasher or refrigerator are actually useful

and in St. Paul the city needs to take control of maintaining the gateway state trail because the DNR is incapable of doing it themselves

if only ONE thing, drive less!
January 10, 2025 at 3:07 PM
we need a social network that prioritizes sustained connection between people rather than an endless stream of content. our current systems prioritize top down information spread from existing large accounts rather than through a natural dispersion through a network of people

i have gotten virtually ZER0 engagement on this site since joining so idk wtf you’re talking about.
