And I loved Libor's reassurance that Honey did the right thing. He didn't have to say it and it probably wasn't needed, but it was the right thing to do.

This struck me because of how small the world gets when your lifespan is measured in centuries. Honey knew of Lenka through Peter and Libor knew of Honey through him as well. Perhaps when you live long enough to see those around you dying on a regular basis, the rest stick around in your memory.

Dagnabbit! Forgot to mention that this is from Patricia Briggs' (aka @mercysgarage.bsky.social ) Mercy Thompson book Silence Fallen....

3/ He turned, took Honey's hand in his, and kissed it. "If she could, she would thank you."

2/ Libor looked at Bonarata with yellow eyes as he said, "Good. This is something that should have been done long ago. When I depart this world, not doing something about Lenka will be part of the cross I will bear on the way to Paradise."

Thanks, Marge! Good to know I'm not alone!

Thanks, Susan! Great to be back... still working on the mechanics, but we'll dance with it :)

Honey's trying to do and lets her know that he has her back. She responds to let him know she understands the situation and that she shouldn't kill Bonbon.

And I really love blaming Guccio for everything!

I love Honey's growing position in the dominance ranks within the wolves as well as Adam's clear acceptance and acknowledgement of her. Adam understands what

Apologies for the delay in posting snippets... real life called and wouldn't hang up the phone and I also had to find a better way to post these in BlueSky. Share your thoughts on how I did, either here or there.

She'd smiled grimly. "I'd kill the old bastard first. And we still need him alive. So I'll keep out of sight as much as I can."
"And if you kill him, I'll help you bury the ashes, and we can blame Guccio," Adam said.
Honey grinned at him and held up a fist, which he bumped with his own.

Upon being alerted that Bonarata was coming, (Honey) had dressed in jeans with an oversized baggy shirt that smelled like Smith's. She'd scrubbed her face clean of makeup.
When he'd first seen her new guise, Adam said, "You could wear a bikini and I would not let him touch you."

Gotcha. I'm still experimenting... I couldn't post the snippet like I do on FB because of character limitations. I'll try a multi-thread post next time.

Maybe this is part of why Bonarata won't just let go. In addition to Mercy being someone he can't understand or have, Adam willingly throwing his threats back at him leaves him... losing. He hasn't lost in centuries. He doesn't know how to accept a loss, I'll bet.

Then second for the back-and-forth on the conclusion. Adam saying "We're done and you won't come back again. Or else."
Bonbon trying to salvage some dignity by falling back on his usual tactics with "Don't threaten me. I'm a badass."

Adam throwing it right back in his face. "Ditto."

First try here at BlueSky (which is where Patty's team told me they're headed... I'm just following!

This first caught my eye because of Bonarata's demeanor. He's been beaten. Badly. Outmaneuvered. Humiliated, maybe. And he's lost Marsilia for good.
