The 2024 experiment of the Dutch to ban smartphones in school has had meteoritic results. 3/4 of students had better concentration, 2/3 reported improved social climate, 1/3 had better academic performance. This inspired France, Hungary, Finland and many UK schools to folliw suit.

‘Forest bathing’ or forest therapy is proving helpful and healing for wildfire survivors to recover. It’s been found to decrease stress and anxiety, which may seem counterintuitive since forest fires were so traumatic. But the reconnection with nature soothes troubled souls. (High Country News)

Bird song is wild in our OJAI (CA) garden as about 100+ birds are shouting out that it’s springtime, after our rain last night. They have a lot to say as they are dive-bombing the 2nd filling of the feeder today, in a frenzy of delight. They take turns and it’s like the planes landing at LAX.

Good news: Whole grains are not only good for you, they also are good for the planet. Whole grains have more nutrients for us, lower disease rates and because they use all three parts of the grain (instead of only one in refined products) they use less resources. (Positive.News 10/2024)
