I don't care so much about being nice to Emily, perse. Fuck being cordial and nice, she doesn't understand nice, and she has 0 interest in listening to anyone.

But it is SO fucking insanely important to stick to verifiable truths, and to speak direct and to the point about her.

Being presented because all she had to do was say "See? They're lying about that! They're not trustworthy!" At one point an acct accused my longtime rp partner, Dracyn, of being her. With zero fucking proof. Just throwing shit at the wall, and making it so damn easy.

The reason I stuck with her for as long as I did (and god, it was only a few months but it felt like years.) is because people would make shit up about her, attack me, attack my friends who had nothing to DO with her, etc etc. And so I was able to discard and discount all the valid evidence

Much of Emily has been "sensationalized" and it makes it that much easier for her to manipulate current and new victims.

On twt, I only ever spoke on my own experiences that I had my own proof of - and anything that I absolutely without a doubt could verify with proof.

Emily is not the standard typical "canceled" fandom folk. She is an abuser, she is dangerous. And when it comes to people like her, and spreading awareness, I feel it's extremely important it is done with care to both the victims (past AND current) *and* the truth.

I've largely disassociated myself from being one of the larger voices speaking up about her for a number of reasons, namely because I can't necessarily agree with the way it's done at times.

That's not to say every single person is awful, or secretly a monster. I've met some wonderful people, but holy fuck. Monsters and those who bend over backwards to defend/shield them, and then switch tactics to throw others under the bus to save face & then the vultures swoop in.

Atp all i have to say is this shit is seemingly cyclical and like clockwork. It pains me to say it because i love rp, i love ffxiv rp, but honestly removing myself from ffxiv rp did so many wonders for my mental health.
