Meanwhile I have seen many of my classmates who can explain a concept or work a problem really well outside of an exam environment struggle with tests because they’re affected by the stress of time pressure. Those people deserve to be fairly evaluated.

This is about the exam accommodations thing. I don’t need accommodations; I have regularly encouraged my classmates to see if they can get them. That’s not bad for me!

I like my classmates and want them to do well. I’m competing against myself to see how well I can learn, not against them. We help each other all the time!

From my perspective, I don’t think the students now are all that different in terms of skills or responsibility than they were then. I think they’re busier and it shows through in their work. Obviously this is only based on my anecdotal experience, though

The solutions to all these problems have resulted in more work for students all the time. I have a LOT a lot more work in my classes now than I did then. Also, a huge majority of my classmates are working, many of them full time, while taking full time credits.
