Which is logical, since they were the ones most actively used fro massive missile strikes on Ukraine.

I'm not well versed in MS vs MSM upgrades (and searching the internet, there are some contradicting opinions for which ones were upgraded), but all 4 of these had photos with the external pylons, so underwent at least those upgrades.

As for Izborsk (Изборск), you can see the shape of letters Б and К, and also semblance of the r/n RF-94117 on some frames (I identified this one back in June, but posting here too). Other reasons also apply.

For RF-94128 Saratov, main reason for ID is eliminating all other options, but I've also convinced myself that it's correct with a kerning thing.
The plane's name doesn't have a spacing adjustment for negative space between letters А and Т, you can see that accentuated in the video too.

Incorrect ID stemmed from this frame where r/n looks like RF-94257, but it's really RF-94259. As you can see, a lot is quite distorted here. Using RF-94129 as an example of the font used (how 9 looks); unfortunately, the latest image available for RF-94259 is before its last repaint.

I'm using @avivector.com's image here for which-is-which clarity – couldn't find the same, but without markings.

The fourth one was incorrectly considered to be "Chelyabinsk", but that doesn't fit for multiple reasons, not least because the name would be visible at this angle.

Ці гроші не ідуть на поточку, не ідуть на дронопад, не ідуть на навчальні центри, і т.д., це на завчасно визначені з грантодавцем цілі і організми. Донатити на пж треба продовжувати як раніше.

ugh, I had to rewrite the tweet because of typo's and forgot to include the January photo this time.

Both are from the Ukrainka airbase (Amur oblast) of course (79 tbap and 182 tbap are based there)
b/n 41, RF-94186 already flew close to Japan in January 2025

Note that this photo doesn't have the blue circle b/n on the tail, so it's a new thing that was added this year

BTW, there are also some face / last name slips in the video. There's no 100% guarantee that the pilot is wearing his own helmet, but most likely last name was Можаров

that 44 yellow / RF-77634 / 35385001007 was also filmed in january 2024 and in november 2024

The second screenshot above is from a court case, uid 61GV0016-01-2025-000287-67 (court case 1-104/2025, appeal 22-813/2025), if you want to look it up on the court website.

Here's an example of one flying in July 2025

b/n 12 yellow, r/n RF-12007

There are multiple mentions of them being used to search for USV's.

There are 0 not based in Crimea, btw.

Yes, there are about 5-6 active ones and multiple dozens in storage. It appears that both that were hit in this video are from storage, unfortunately (this time).

Some intact photos as well.
Since the loading-into-An-124 photo lacks z-wastika, I cannot tell if it's just old or it's how those Mi-24VP's were moved from the baltic fleet airfields into Crimea and the sign was added there.

The shittiest part of it, katsaps will just keep with the salami slicing strategy until their drones hit the logistics hubs, through which military aid comes to us from Poland.
