[6/6] Gabriel Beaumont (and many of his officers) did not survive the campaign, and were replaced by more competent officers transferred from another Regiment.

[5/6] The Regiment was thrust into battle in Spring 1609, during the [region] Campaign. It suffered tremendous losses, but emerged from the three year campaign grizzled and experienced.
