I hope all those ICE agents from Florida and Texas have a lovely weekend here! 🥰

This is almost definitely not the case, but I insist on believing that when they have to go to the tower it involves climbing all the way to the top and precariously hanging up there while fixing things.

Do they actually still have to physically be in the building anymore? I don’t know anything about it, but it seems like something you could run remotely pretty easily.

How cold does it ever get down there? Are people trying to pre-warm their cars in order to avoid light jacket temperatures?

You see them maybe half the time on the Blue line. They’re definitely showing their age, but they have 4 bike racks per car instead of 2 on the Siemens cars, so I like them in the summers when everyone’s biking.

Interesting, that’s the stretch that I found most painful during previous shutdowns.

I was “lucky” enough to come down with Covid and haven’t had to take the replacement bus this time, so I haven’t had a chance to see this time.

Maybe beef up service on semi-parallel routes (7, 9, 14, 22) to serve riders that would have been getting on in Minneapolis, and run the Blue replacement buses express to downtown after 38th to keep trips pretty quick for riders coming from Bloomington/Airport/Fort Snelling?

I really hope they find a way to make replacement bus service suck less for the extended shutdown next summer, cause that’s gonna be *rough*. IDK if that’s possible, though.

Probably one of those “take an active duty Marine as your guest to the CMAs to show how much you support the troops” kind of things.

The demolition without a permit is an entirely separate issue, of course, which the article barely discusses despite it being in the headline.

“…as a community we can ask, ‘Why is it only happening in this part of the city?'”

…because it’s the part of the city where the university is. If this guy didn’t want to be near college students, maybe he should’ve taken notice of the large university in the neighborhood before moving in?

Right while we were trying to get our dog to sit still so we could give her her eyedrops. It didn’t help.

Yeah, for me A Line -> Blue Line is still probably gonna be my go-to. A little slower, but it doesn’t require me to check a schedule. Maybe 134 in the mornings when it’s easier to leave at a specific time.

That’s actually perfect timing for specifically me and maybe not a lot of other people 🤣

Am I reading this right that only the reverse commute 134 and 765 will be restored in August? Neither are currently operating, and starting off with reverse commute service only would seem strange?

(which there is, it goes to JFK)

If there can be an AirBus it logically follows that there can be an AirTrain.

Unfortunately Amtrak’s having enough trouble keeping their existing rolling stock in good enough shape to run their current service. I’m on the Borealis right now, and I’m pretty sure this car is a Superliner I, which would make it at least 44 years old.
