I walked 2.86 miles today, the furthest I have gone since my surgery! My foot hurts a little, but I think I can drive. This bodes well for going hiking again!

Went to Casa Bonita for the first time since the remodel! Food was all right, cliff divers were great, and Black Bart's cave was amusing. We did see the ManBearPig, but missed the gorilla and the Black Bart skits from before. And it was crazy crowded. Worth the wait? Eh, I'd go again.

It was a beautiful day today, so my husband and I took a walk at Staunton State Park! The 1.6 miles we went is the furthest I've been since surgery 6 months ago. My foot hurts but I am proud of my progress.

Just finished watching the new #StarTrekSection31 movie and it was a... choice. If you know nothing about Star Trek, it's an ok action flick. But the only thing Star Trek about the film was its setting, and even that was a stretch. I'm not quite sure who this movie was supposed to appeal to.

I know Duolingo is problematic with its use of AI, but I am still proud of this. If there's another free app where I can learn Hebrew and Yiddish, let me know!

Just finished this book today - it was a sobering account of the harm the USA has done to the Lakota people, how Hitler drew on American policies toward Indigenous people to shape his own against Jews, and how the author's family played a small unwitting part. Highly recommend.

Today, I am home from San Diego and I walked around the lake, about 1.2 miles! That is the furthest I have walked since my surgery. I am a little sore but for the most part feeling OK. It was a beautiful day. (Pic does not show the lake but does highlight the current conditions!)
