Following the arrival of the books, the cats have been on 12-hour rolling shifts to occupy the box at all times. Here’s Panda putting in a solid stint.

A highlight of #ESEH2025: the Polar Bear Swim! Was so great to meet so many other swimmers - by FAR the biggest conference swim to date!

I stumbled upon this maker’s mark down by the ladies’ loos in the main university building

A bit of internet searching and a clean up later… it’s a perfume bottle from the 1930s! ‘Mischief’ by Saville. I wonder who dropped it while gardening.

Found a little glass bottle on the allotment, with ‘Saville’ written on the bottom.

‘Her feet were the size of hot-dog buns’ is the best description of the Queen I’ve ever read. (David Sedaris in the New Yorker)

Most importantly though I had a lovey swim this evening in a lake, with a cormorant fishing around us swimmers and then sunning its feathers. So beautiful!

Looking forward to taking part in this event at the weekend - all free and public.

I’ve been reminded that 4 years ago thousands of people gathered in Bristol city centre on #climatestrike. Citizens have been asking for more action on climate for *years* (2019 being just a recent example).
