Try it:

Open chrome://extensions → Load unpacked → select the folder (with manifest.json).

Then set your key in chrome://extensions/shortcuts or use Alt(Option)-R as default.

Use the shortcut for the whole page or right‑click a link to copy that link.

Why:

I copy and paste Markdown links into notes all day. I wanted a global shortcut and reliable clipboard.

I used a bookmarklet before, but wanted to have a keyboard shortcut for this.

For AI collaboration, I'm not just prompting. I write detailed design docs and a master ai-rules.md file.

This gives various AI assistants the context they need to generate code that respects the architecture. It's been a game-changer. 🤖 #AIcoding #LLM

For software craft, I'm using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and a Hexagonal (Ports & Adapters) architecture in Python.

This keeps the core logic pure and lets me swap out things like transcription engines without touching the application's core. 🏗️ #Python #DDD

I also frequently use speech-to-text functionality of ChatGPT both on desktop and mobile. It transcribes everything rather well and frequently I do ask questions about code.

Not on a regular basis, but sometimes I use that MacWhisper to enter a prompt to GitHub Copilot. A few times I used speech-to-text functionality of GitHub Copilot itself. It wasn't bad, but I like the fact that with MacWhisper I can voice-type and then edit things.

There are some alternatives on Windows too: alternativeto.net/software/mac... I'm just not sure how good they are.

I use MacWhisper, which is a macOS wrapper around OpenAI Whisper model that's hosted locally. This message is typed just by saying it with dictation option from MacWhisper.
