The trick is to plan a decent ways away from your trip, and to take around 4 people. Also if you're in the bayarea with lots of local public transit, it's a good idea to get further up the train line to cut down on price. Amtrak is a bit hard to plan but if you do it right it can be pretty chwap!

Rip the Valencia street 2 way bike lane :((( it will be kind of missed and hopefully replaced with something a bit nicer for access to businesses!!
