A great morning at Edge Hill University yesterday; students receive their Plant Heritage National Collection status for their collection of native and naturalised ferns. (Nice to see some of my plants on display too). Nice to see a young thriving plant horticulture group. #BritishFernSociety

With bumblebees probably nothing, but with ants probably general pest removal before the chemical defences can be deployed.

A plume moth, possibly Platyptilia gonodactyla. The caterpillar stage live as leaf miners I! Coltsfoot and Butterbur. Amazingly delicate moths that seen to land on spiders webs with impunity!

They are quite incredible, aren't they. Surviving in a quiet hostile ecosystem, yet appear quite delicate.
