When you say reference are you talking abt a photo from real life or a masterwork painting that handled something you feel you need work on? If youre struggling with painting clear glass painting it from life is good but it also helps to do copies of paintings of glass to see how they handled it.

The lack of funding and systemic support for those poor and overworked teachers.
