The Shoebill Stork!
Google says it's not there anymore though!

My white bunny had a serious case of GI stasis last night, so I was up all night babying him. Literally at 4AM, I was worried he wasn't going to make it. At 7:44 this morning, he finally ate on his own. His lady is so happy he's back to his normal, cuddly self, and so am I!!!

So thankful my girl here survived getting scratched by the bear! She's always been a spunky one!

Bye, duck destroyer!

He is being relocated by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. They think he is 6-7 years old.

The bear is in the trap!!! I repeat, the bear is in the trap!!! I can sleep. You have no idea how happy I am right now. 😭😭😭

Fingers crossed y'all that we catch the bear tonight

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is going to come trap the bear. 😭 He got at least another duck last night and scratched another, then got into trash neighbors put out too early. He literally peeled off my run-chicken duck door like it was a fruit roll-up

Fingers crossed, I don't want to have a repeat of last night with bear activity

I fking hate that we are so dry and the bears are so fking hungry that they killed at least 6 of my ducks and scratched a 7th. All but one of my fatty Aylesbury ducks is gone, including my super sweet crossbill drake 😭

I feel like someone used a genie wish on me where I am only able to ever find flathead screw drivers when I am always in need of a phillips head.

The babies officially started laying a few days ago. Eggs are tiny at first! So proud of this happy little group ❤️

Most recent alpaca pic as a bonus. They are obsessed with the neighbors dog.

Blurry pic, trying to decide if this is a suspiciously roostery tail feather growing in

Nearby alpaca farm is safe, for now, as long as the (lack of) wind continues to cooperate. Me and a couple other alpaca farms are on standby with our trailers in case something changes. Last night, the smoke from it was insane even 60 miles away!

Currently terrified for a nearby alpaca farm. Fast moving fire today about 5 miles from their place. I'm 60 miles away and the smoke is so thick tonight. 😭

So many areas of the country devastated with floods this year, while it continues to be insanely dry in our area. Very thankful for our firefighters and ones on loan from California now have a nearby ~600 acre wildfire 95% contained.

I saw a mountain bluebird feeding her baby on the ground the other day, so cute. She and her man come back every year to my house and have babies.

I'm so excited I finally got an in-focus pic of this little dude, adejeania vexatrix.

I'd be lying if I wasn't worried about how hungry the bears around my neighborhood already seem to be this year. I'm out in the open, so I dont usually have any sightings. Left something out yesterday that drew him in, unfortunately. Usually, only this hungry right before hibernation.

Caught a visit from a bee fly this morning.

Rescued a baby raccoon that almost drowned after being stuck in about 6 inches of water overnight yesterday. His sibling didn't make it. Momma climbed out with a ladder after her baby was out. Buddy was chilled to the bone. Chicken heat lamp, cat food, and a nap helped revive him.
