Nice! Mine started to bloom this week as well. I planted it in part sun so it's not as happy as it could be. I love the form of this buckwheat!

It also took mine until year 3 to flower. However, 1 plant turned into 10 in those 3 years.

I have them bound by cement, aggressive Yankee Point and a very dry lawn. I hope this keeps them in check!

I was amazed at how quickly they took over the area I planted them and then quickly moved where the soil was favorable.

I think these are great for large containers to help control spread!

looks like your yard will undergo a big transition next year. Lots of great plants and some of them get very large.

This post was all the inspiration I needed to plant mine that was languishing in a pot. Fingers crossed that it survives the summer transplant....the soil it in was holding too much water.

I also made sure to plant it at an angle to keep the water from pooling in the center and causing rot.
