Do you think we had that attitude with the Nazis?

The point I made ----------->

Your head

I agree I think too many people want their hobby to be their job and it's just not viable for a lot of people, very bluntly a lot of people can be fine with making ttrpgs as a hobby but they're not good enough to do so as a job
March 20, 2025 at 11:46 PM
Yeah well that or stupid it seems like they are one of those things

Often bolth actually now that I'm thinking about it
March 20, 2025 at 11:28 PM
What the actual fuck is wrong with these people
March 20, 2025 at 11:26 PM
Yeah this is the big part, with A printed book at a very minimum whatever you're purchasing is good enough to get to that point

Any old MF with mediocre writing skills can make a PDF and sell it

The gallows is the only appropriate place for Trump and his cronies

And the people who are telling him what to do

Doesn't help that I'm working 10-14 hours a day for an asphalt company m-f
March 20, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Add on wanting some good Google sheets automation and assistance for play and I feel like I'm only half way there
March 20, 2025 at 3:31 PM
But for me I enjoy that type of gameplay so it's worth it

I think to make sure you end up with a good balance of this for your games you have to be open to adjusting and tweaking rules mid campaign
March 17, 2025 at 2:44 AM
The game

It's also tough for a designer making mechanics to figure out where your outlines should end and to balance how much you're putting into them

Like, I made an extensive complex business/bases system for my game that most people will just use the simplified version of/
March 17, 2025 at 2:44 AM
This is huge advice

But it's also so hard to balance, because yes you want things to have value but at the same time you don't want things to be annoying to do

I have found That I can have the same groups of people in different games that like a ruling completely differently just on vibes for/
March 17, 2025 at 2:44 AM
Not necessarily, there's many people who would pay for a $10 PDF to support the Creator but not a 25+$ one

On top of that generally speaking because of how easy it is to Pirate these things, if you actually want to make money out of them you want to make money out of services involving them
March 9, 2025 at 1:50 AM
Right except those people if they want to play your game will just pirate it
March 9, 2025 at 1:44 AM
The logic of "don't cater to people outside of the people that are already buying your stuff" Is what kills indie games

If You're not selling enough to profit You need to cater to people outside of the group you're selling to
March 9, 2025 at 1:31 AM
I agree that's part of it, but you have to consider that when selling your product

If you know you're not going to have good marketing, and know that it's not going to be out there as much as a lot of other products you have to sell cheaper than those other products to get people to even look
March 9, 2025 at 12:27 AM
All of it is complicated but it's not the consumer's fault that You aren't putting out a product that is good enough for their dollar relative to other products, that's something that you have to figure out
March 8, 2025 at 11:27 PM
Except there's still plenty of people making indie games and being successful

The problem here isn't all the people not buying your game the problem here is your game, you need to figure out why relative to the rest of the people selling these games you're producing it at too much of a cost
March 8, 2025 at 11:27 PM
You can spend 12 hours a day As an amateur knitting blankets and you're not going to make enough a day for rent, and that's not the fault of the consumers

You're going into an inherently risky market, It's just part of the job
