There is a giant middle in immigration waiting to be occupied. Rationality and discretion matter. Would be nice if some politicians could figure that out.

They could start by, I don’t know, asking nicely? And then escalate from there.

It is what happens when speed and numbers matter more than anything else. And for this administration they appear to be the only things that matter.

Democrats have been running scared of immigration for years. It is the only modicum of a silver lining to these horrible developments that people -including but not led by Democratic politicians- are finally waking up.
