The drinks weren’t what did it. It was the places people had to be social. It was having enough money you weren’t stressed all the time. Capitalism has robbed joy from our lives. We need to steal it back and booze isn’t the starting point.

And just like a lot of Americans we will fight for that. Not just for ourselves but for our families, our friends, our neighbors. It is soemthing the elites will never understand because they think they are above us and that is assumption they will learn to regret.

I’m Canadian but I feel the same ideas apply. The ideals and freedoms that make up our nations are real to us. We don’t have vast sums of wealth that allow us to ignore every rule and do what we want. We have to play by the rules and we want to live in a society where those rules mean something

Some might argue being a city councilor isn’t supposed to be a full time job. The reality is people do the jobs they can and deserve to be paid fairly for them regardless of opinion.

The thing that makes me so mad about all this is. This is being pushed by rich powerful assholes who want to be slightly more rich and powerful. This will do nothing for the average Albertan. Paul Brandt wants it so he can get a better deal on his taxes or some bullshit. They believe in nothing.

You can a lot of bad things about China. However, at the very least they are rational actors that are predictable. Unlike someone else who would sign something one day then but your country to the ground the next.
