Now that I’m finding my way back home (to myself), the idea of abandonment has taken on new meaning. I still dread abandonment, and my attachment wounding is something I’ll be working through long term.

The real kicker was in my quest to avoid abandonment, I was absolutely being abandoned…by myself. 🥴

I remember a time when I dreaded being abandoned, feeling abandoned, or abandoning someone else. My self worth had been connected to will and whims of others (re: codependency, re: anxious attachment style).
