Then, Zarah Sultana will present her own vision and proposals for the party, exploring where those align with DSYP's ideas as well as where there are differences. Following this, we'll open up the floor to a Q&A session. Please come along ready to ask questions!

In the first meeting in this series, we'll hear from DSYP speakers Max S, Chloe B, and Ewan T about the case for a Party Republic, our new proposed Political Statement, and our major proposed constitutional amendments.

A Worker’s Wage and Party Equality 💰

Keep our reps grounded in the working class experience:
- MPs/officeholders take no more than the median local wage.
- Staff salaries capped at the national average.
- Any surplus salary goes back to the local branch.

Accountability for Elected Representatives 🗳️

Representatives must serve the membership:
- Establish Socialists in Office (SIO) Committees for scrutiny.
- Elected Parliamentary/Council Convenors.
- Term limits for all elected officeholders.

Fair and Independent Discipline ⚖️

Discipline should ensure safety, not silence debate.

- Create a Discipline & Grievance Commission (DGC).
- 11 members selected by sortition (random draw).
- The DGC reviews all disciplinary cases independently.

Transparency and Openness 🔍

Members cannot control the party if they lack access to key information. Accountability requires openness and scrutiny of those we elect.

- All CEC/Steering Committee meetings open to members
- Minutes and decisions must be published

For a Collective Leadership 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

End the focus on individual leaders. We need democratic, collective leadership:
- Replace single Leader with 2 Co-Chairs
- End automatic seats for MPs/Councillors on the CEC
- Elected Steering Committee.
- Term Limits for leadership and CEC.

A Party of the Whole Left 🤝

Strength is in diversity! We must encourage open debate:
- Organise openly in factions/platforms
- Advocate publicly for your politics
- Remove bans on membership of other parties
