The IRA bet on tech subsidies + industrial policy. But for many voters, it meant inflation & unaffordable clean tech. Climate Realism says: prepare for a 3°C world, invest where the US leads, and use trade & leverage abroad. Less moral purity, more political durability.

What a joy listening to this Pod. I always learn something on @volts.wtf but to hear you guys riff on housing as the “unified theory of everything” was mind-bending. I had no idea municipalities were key to unlocking massive carbon reductions. Thanks for your leadership on this!

Thanks Leah. David here. Recently laid off from an exciting climate tech start up that makes heat pumps smart (hope they succeed). Long-time climate activist. Glad this community is growing.

While Trump’s insult to America’s most valorous warriors was bad, the real news was him sucking up to a Big Donor that he pissed off just days earlier with a string of angry texts. Thanks for reminding us how he debased our county by selling our highest honors to the highest bidders.

Congrats on smart controls! Sounds like you were able to get a lot of efficiency gains by toggling btwn main and back up heating at optimum times. Have you considered heat storage as a way to optimize electric demand like www.harvest-thermal.com? By running hp during the day it cuts emissions by 90%
Harvest - Heat Pump + Smart Thermal Battery
Heat your home, not your home planet. Reduce carbon emissions from home heating up to 90% compared to gas furnaces and save up to 40% on home energy costs.
