2025 was by far the worst year in my nearly half-century of life. Like, not even close. So few positives and a Santa-sized list of negatives. Here’s hoping 2026 can bring many more positives to even out the balance sheet. #happynewyear #fuck2025

Love me some Adm. Cloudberg! Looking forward to this one

I wish for only three things this holiday season: the Lego Star Trek Enterprise, a pedicure, and a trip to Disneyland.

It’s sprinkling. You’ve got your windshield wipers on full blast. And all of your windows rolled all the way down. I have questions. #dafuq

Ahh yes, “Imaginary Friend.” One of the few duds of the 5th season, which is immediately followed by the strongest 3 episode run of all 7 seasons: “I, Borg,” “The Next Phase,” and “The Inner Light.” Let’s get this 46 minutes done so I can enjoy the next 138 minutes of bliss #nextgenbingerewatch

Season 5 Episode 18 “Cause and Effect”: One of the best episodes of the show’s run. Great concept by Braga, fantastic directing by Frakes, and just super well executed. Probably only like 4 other episodes get this close to perfection #nextgenbingerewatch

Still plugging away on ST:TNG. S5 is full of bangers, might be the best season overall but we’ll see when we keep going. Currently on Ep. 6 “The Game” which is a really fun episode with some switching of the typical adult-teenager dynamic. And reaffirms my crush on Ashley Judd #nextgenbingerewatch

The CDC is a failed institution & we are worse off because of it. Kids should get the MMR vaccine, it’s not even a question. And I already got my COVID booster. Glad that my state is smart & writing their own guidelines, but then what exactly are we getting from the feds? apple.news/AILlCaYVTRoe...

I think of Charlie Kirk’s death the same way I felt about James Dobson…
Wasn’t advocating for it, wasn’t pushing to make it happen… but on the flip side neither of those motherfuckers deserve any sympathy and if the idiotic concept of hell existed, they’d both rot at the lowest tier. Good riddance

I seriously can’t understand how “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” got 50% on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s one of the worst films I’ve ever watched. Midway through I got mad at myself for making me continue to watch it. It’s such trash

Man… how cool is it that my third kid’s playing (light) travel ball, he’s playing up a year and the two-year up coach is looking at him for a pitcher. We had mostly bad games on day one today but I like our shot in the sliver bracket

Omg I just bought tickets for myself, my brother-in-law, and my father-in-law to go see The Naked Gun in the morning. Not an ad, I just haven’t been to a movie theater in 5+ years and THIS is the movie that’s drawing me back. I thought it’d be a Chris Nolan joint (and I will be back for The Odyssey)
August 2, 2025 at 8:58 AM
Can I just say how irrationally happy it makes me that The Naked Gun is coming out of the gate with a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes? I may break my 5 year streak of not going to the movies to go see it. Feels like just the kind of movie I need right now with *gestures around* all of this going on.

This is probably no revelation to anyone else, but I’m such a socially inept asshole, I finally think I figured out the “bro handshake hierarchy” after I dunno 20 years?
Tier 1: Handshake
T2: Fistbump
T3: Dap low, shoulder grab
T4: Dap high, shoulder grab
T5: Dap high and a full one-armed snug

How the hell did I go 33 years without knowing that Edie Brickell was married to Paul Simon?!?!

They met on SNL when she was 22 and he was 46, which is a little sus but seems they’ve had a good life together.

Just made me go whaaaaa? when Colbert mentioned it

#STTNG Season 3 starts out stronger than anything that came before it, weird overdubbing issue in episode 2 notwithstanding. Ep. 3&4 of this season really start to show the quality sci-fi ahead. I’m already fired up for the murderer’s row that is the back half of this season #nextgenbingerewatch
June 5, 2025 at 8:18 AM
The badly-written #sttng episodes slow down mid 2nd season, but the finale “Shades of Gray” stands out as completely awful. A clip show surrounded by medical jargon nonsense. I know they were trying to save money but to end a season like this, they’re lucky they got another #nextgenbingerewatch
June 4, 2025 at 8:20 AM
The writing on #sttng improves vastly around the midpoint of season 2. The best example I've found so far is in "Q Who" (episode 16) where Picard is trying to get to the bottom of why Q is back after promising to stay away and Q thinks Picard isn't being fair #nextgenbingerewatch

My hero has passed. There are several restaurants and bars strewn throughout the Bay Area where my nickname was Norm because I came in regularly and always had my spot. I tip a beer in the air and give a hearty NOOOORRRMM in remembrance. You are already missed www.nytimes.com/2025/05/20/a...

Hot damn. I love ST: TNG. I know the first season was kinda ass. Bought a whole 43 disc Blu-ray set from friggin England before the Trump-iffs made it stupid. As I watch this show after I rip it down… I’m so glad they got their shit figured out. This sucks
