“everyone” is a severe overstatement

The notion of “over” or “under” regulation as though regulations were fungible has permanently damaged everyone’s ability to think and speak sensibly about the concept. Regulations are all different and they have wildly different effects. There’s not some regulation-knob to turn up or down.

It’s always people who think it’s polite to refrain from name calling while “arguing” how minorities don’t deserve rights and poor people are just lazy.
