A [mostly] #startrek podcast in which a married couple explore love across the final frontier. Hosted by Joe & Nicole Praska.
Absolutely loving the gnarly cover art for these issues of Star Trek: Red Shirts. Props to Christopher Cantwell & Megan Levans for putting together a really cool and unique Star Trek comic with this series so far. Lots of fresh ideas that never shy away from brutality & intensity!

Getting back into the Trek comic game!

Watched the 1st ep. with the kiddos. Super short & cute. The Star Trek guitar riff theme slaps! Our 3-year-old was giggling throughout; the 7-year-old, in the other hand said, “I think Prodigy is more for me” 😂

This is definitely one for the littles, but it’s fun! Love Bubbles the Targ 💜

As for “Four-and-a-half Vulcans” …easily the weakest of the series. Criticisms are 100% valid. One positive, though: thought Patton Oswalt’s Doug was a nice subversion of some of the mono-cultural Vulcan portrayals we often see in Trek; not arrogant, interested in differences & genuinely friendly!

Catching up on SNW…overall really liked “What is Starfleet.” Felt like one of the better episodes of the season; some good drama and fun concepts that felt actually sci-fi. LOVED the Jikaru. Always on board for large, space-faring creatures and new species.

Revising REBEL MOON and one undeniable highlight has to be the amazing practical makeup and alien creature effects. These films lean into the inherent weirdness of science fiction in a fun way. Also great to see our friend, @dominicburgess.bsky.social in a classic space bar sequence!

Where’s all our Whovian friends at??

Really excited to add Ncuti Gatwa‘a seasons to the collection! Fantastic looking steelbooks!

Really enjoyed the introduction of the M'Kroon through N'jal (awesome portrayal from actor Ish Morris, for the record) in the SNW episode, "Through the Lens of Time."

Always eager to see new aliens in Star Trek & the design of these guys was fantastic. If only we could have seen more!

We’ve made blue drinks & green drinks. Trying a hand at making red drinks & watching the last few SNW eps! This specific drink is a mix of pear vodka, peach schnapps, Liquid Death Cereal Criminal (the fruity pebble collab - and yes, you read that right), and a dash of cranberry juice. Not to bad!!

We’ve covered a few other non-Trek things in the past & we’ll be doing that again! With a year since its release, we’ll be taking a look back at Zack Snyder’s ambitious, 2-part, Heavy Metal/Star Wars-inspired space adventure, REBEL MOON (the R-rated director’s cuts)!

Continuing the trek through (pun intended) the boxes of Trek books…

There’s just something special about classic sci-fi book covers. Really loving the art on these TOS novels! ‘Death’s Angel’ by Kathleen Sky in particular goes hard.

We recently inherited BOXES of classic Trek books. As I’m going through them, I’ve found lots of interesting stories, but this was definitely a gem to stumble upon!

Pretty cool find at the local Half-Price Books!

Fun list from @slashfilm.bsky.social!

The only addition we’d recommend would be the short lived (and criminally under-seen) Yahoo! series, ‘Other Space,’ from Paul Feig. Even had Eugene Cordero in it who went on to co-star in Lower Decks!

Been really digging the latest album drop from @thebeverlycrushers.bsky.social!! The album cover art absolutely rules too.

We'll be talking to a member of the band for our next pod episode - look for it soon!

Bummed to hear the news about Star Trek, author Peter David. He brought particular style of weird and fun to the Trek litverse. His New Frontier series was such a cool expansion of the franchise.

RIP Peter David.

If you’re a fan of Trek biographies, don’t sleep on JG Hertzler’s “Confessions of a Klingon Linebacker.”

We’ll be chatting with Mr. Hertzler about the book and his time as Martok on DS9 on the podcast! Look for our chat soon!

We had a delightful time chatting with Oklahoma's British Star Trek queen, Busty Springfield, about one of DS9's horniest episodes!

Look for our episode on "Looking for par'Mach in All the Wrong Places" to drop next week!

Yay for physical media! We’ve had a range of thoughts on this movie; definitely started off pretty negative but found more to like on rewatch. Not the strongest Trek film for sure, but glad to add it to the #steelbook collection!

Loved her parts in Trek! Sinclair also had a banger role in CONVOY with Kris Kristofferson. She was definitely an actor that deserved to have been way more well known.

Adding this one from the Star Trek: Discovery episode "Despite Yourself" from 2018. Not strictly 'anti-capitalist' but it reflects the mindset of certain leaders in our world who use fear, hate and blame to cling to power.
April 2, 2025 at 1:24 PM
Here's one that's not as explicitly anti-capitalist per se, but emphasizes the notion of embracing our better natures over accepting the vicious & violent cycles that continue to plague us (like...capitalism, for example). From the TOS episode, "A Taste of Armageddon" all the way back in 1967.
