I don't remember it looking like this the last time I made a blueberry clafoutis. It was much more cakey. But it's blueberries and more or less custard. Gonna taste alright.

Tonight's sunset over the SF Bay.

Preparing for tomorrow's family feast. I roasted 2 racks of pork (we aren't turkey fans...but my brother is smoking a turkey, too). I also made dressing/stuffing. Tomorrow morning I'll make a blueberry clafute (a French dessert usually made with cherries).

Dinner tonight is homemade pumpkin curry with acorn squash and coconut milk. I looked at a bunch of recipes and then just winged it from there. Will serve it over (brown) rice.

Trimmed my mother's bougainvillea this afternoon with only minor injuries. A success!

24 hours later and 20 degrees cooler: the sun setting over fog rolling into the San Francisco Bay.

We had late eye appointments in SF this afternoon and ended up having dinner 🍽️ at the Woodhouse Fish Co.

I found this recipe, for sweet potato and chickpea patties online. It looked like a lazy man's falafel. The house smells amazing. Looking forward to having these for supper tonight.

Visited a property with a potential selling client and took a bunch of pictures. This is just one. I need to research the market and propose a pricing strategy and a marketing plan.

Spotted this beauty on my way to the market this morning. Thunderbird convertible!

New Ink Day!
My Truphae subscription arrived.

Ink: Monteverde's Mercury Noir. A moody burgundy. Very wet. Feathered, soaked through, stained the page behind.

Pen: Diplomat Traveller, fine nib. Metal fountain pen. Haven't used it yet. No photo of the fountain pen.

I think this is a contemporary Rolls-Royce. Spotted in Fremont, CA, outside a Chick-fil-A.

With RR money, surely they could afford a Black Bear Diner. 😂😂😂

Hello, fountain pen people.
My mechanic has these 2 fountain pens. The one on the top is a piston filler, and feels like celluloid (?), not ebonite.
What are these, and what might they be worth?

Checking up on my mother's house while she is away.
Sophie is confused that Gramma isn't here.

I came home from my holiday to find my monthly delivery from Truphae! Woot! It's both New Fountain Pen Day AND New Ink Day! 🎉🎉

FP: a Conklin Herringbone Signature, Fine nib. Lovely.
Ink: Maiora, 03 Rosso Pompeiano, a somewhat smelly, but beautiful red ink.

Maiora is a new manufacturer to me.

3 loons showed up in the cove today! Poor picture of 2, but they were out some distance. I'd heard their calls but this is the first I saw them this year.

Drove over to North Conway this afternoon to hit the outlets. Bought nothing, but enjoyed the drive and the time with my mother.

We drove over to Tamworth the other day. It has a fine old Congregational Church dating from the late 1790's. Quintessential New England.
