I think people in the past had less access to information, and the media as it is today, didn't exist. Evil was always this corny, but people of the day were generally unaware of how stupid the tyrants were. In the modern era though, you can see what sad, stupid little men they really are.

Because if your not, when the sun reaches its red giant stage and swallow the earth... you'd still be alive (and looking great). Then drifting through space alone or trapped in the gravity well of a dead star.

All is fine and great until the lifespan of humankind is entirely spent and you wake up looking great for no one. For thousands, perhaps millions of years. Let hope your the kind of vampire that's allergic to the sun.
