Our patrol had to use all their navigational skills to complete this weekends MPC in very challenging conditions. We are very proud of their achievement! Many thanks to the staff and our scouters for making adventures like this possible.

Last weekend's Connaught MPC was a true baptism by fire for our gang. A tough route (that steep and long ascent of Croaghan ...) and challenging weather conditions (low temperatures, fog, rain, strong winds) thrown in for good measure.

A lot of preparation is needed before going to a Mountain Pursuit Challenge: studying maps, preparing route cards, food, and gear, ... Our patrol is now ready for Achill Island ready after all that hard work. Pray for good weather. 🤞

Great pleasure being able to assist Cork Sub Aqua Club with their Women in Sport and Seagrass Survey events - tea and coffee after a dive is always welcome!

The Mournes did not disappoint this weekend and a challenging route in glorious sunshine on the
Ulster Mountain Pursuit Challenge was enjoyed. A massive well done to all the patrols that took part in the event and thanks to the Chief Scout for joining us at high camp.

Busy weekend for our youth members: the cubs went to the Cub County Hike in Kerry, beavers visited Doneraile Park and our scouts hiked up Mangerton mountain.

About 40 people attended our World Scout Jamboree information evening. Past participants shared their experiences and there seems to be a strong interest in the event.

Well done to our 6 intrepid ventures who faced horrible conditions on Saturday (exceptionally low visibility, strong gusty wind, rain and hail) on the eastern ridges of the Reeks.
After an 8 year absence from the Mountain Havoc's we are back!

Our Tuesday night scouts over the w/e undertook a camping hiking expedition. Sunday was cold & foggy, it put their nav skills to the test, but they worked as a team and hit their nav marks. Big thanks to leaders Peter & Andy. #ScoutingIreland #ScoutsIE #GetOut #GetActive

'An army marches on its stomach' - and our cubs are no different. Last week while at Knockadoon camp they prepared, cooked and served all the camp meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
