if you had told me that 20 years ago that I would be saying “hell yeah Bill Kristol” I would’ve said “oh my god, what’s wrong with me? do I get severe cranial trauma or something?” and yet
(admittedly, many things are wrong with me. but not nearly as many as I would have figured at that time!)

but different people have different limits from me, and no one person is “correct” in where they draw their lines on what they can or want to deal with in their art/entertainment.

see, this is the thing, more generally! there is PLENTY of stuff I don’t want to read because I find it offensive or even upsetting; no one (that I have ever met) is saying everyone MUST read and enjoy everything. having limits, knowing them, and taking care of oneself by respecting them is healthy!
