first time i've shared any of the actual text
Abigail walked the graveyard, her regalia resting uneasily upon her, the silent stones of the long, long dead her only witness. The silver moon hung above her in the cloudless sky, fat and full, flanked by the two lesser moons. Its cool glow was a comfort, so bright she need not summon a Witchlight. Her destination loomed from the top of the hill. The stately stone crypt was surrounded by a paved circle, an unbroken metal ring set in between the stones. Both the crypt and the circle had been cleaned, and they gleamed in the moonlight. All was as it should be. Almost. Abigail ran a gloved hand over the oak door, delaying, she knew. She pulled the key from the chatelaine at her belt, unlocking the door with a well-oiled click, a pang of sorrow in her heart. A Witch must do her duty. Inside, the bodies were lying peacefully in their niches, arcanely preserved and dressed in fine funereal garb. Beyond, stairs tunnelled downwards, into the earth. She took a breath, stepping a pace back from the entrance, to the position that was now hers. Closing her eyes, she slowly raised her hands, and inhaled sharply as the magic rushed into her, eager to be used. She shook her hands out, looking about guiltily. There could be no delays. Abigail took a deep breath, and readied herself to disturb their peace. a woman with brown skin and black curls in a dress looking down at a man pale skin and a bloodstain on his shirt.
