From this point forward-at least for the next half year-you may not use "thought" verbs. These include: Thinks, Knows, Understands, realizes, Believes, Wants, Remembers, Imagines, Desires, and a hundred others you love to use.

The list should also include: Loves and Hates. And it should include: Is and Has, but we'll get to those later.

Until some time around Christmas, you can't write: Kenny. wondered if Monica didn't like him going out at night..."

Instead, you have to unpack that to something like: "The mornings after Kenny had stayed out, beyond the last bus, until he'd had to bum a ride or pay for a cab and got home to find Monica faking sleep, faking because she never slept that quiet, those mornings, she'd only put her own cup of coffee in the microwave. Never his."

Instead of characters knowing anything.

Handwoven napkins cut and ready for use. I wove with Gist Yarn's 8/2 Duet cotton/linen yarn. It was a delight to weave with, but as expected with linen, definitely needs ironing after a wash!

Fast and easy weave, perfect as a break between more complex projects.

A recent #handweaving project. I wove this with alpaca fiber, the alpacas are raised (and spoiled!) at a farm near me, and they have a small fiber mill on site and spin their own yarn as well. The drape and thickness of this scarf is luxurious!

I love this quote. Though I would argue that he, and those of us like him, are not traitors to our species, but a hero fighting for it. Those parasites exploiting our home beyond it's ability to regenerate are the traitors.

Many years ago now, my family and I decided to stop exchanging Christmas presents. That first year was a little awkward, gifts had been such a central focus of the day we felt a little adrift, it took us awhile to find new ways of celebrating our love for one another. Now, we love it.
