I hope it makes me look cool and epic and approachable in public.

I thought this was the most boring weapon in World, but it's so much more bombastic in this game. Tracers are cool, but overlooking that, there's still a lot of cool things with this weapon. This weapon is probably the best for wounding monsters, and cashing in on those slow points of a hunt.

This is my favorite iteration of HBG. Wyvernheart feels so much more controllable while being useful. One problem I have with the bowguns this game in general is the spread/pierce ammo. Neither felt better than the normal ammo, especially since normal fires multiple shots now.

Finally I don't have to play LBG with those stupid fucking mines. I did not like those. Now with those gone, LBG just seems... right. I like that faster shot mode, but I feel like something is missing that makes dodging with LBG rewarding.

TBH, I didn't like the "constantly in air" IG that World had, so I'm glad they want us grounded. I kinda wish there was a more "final smash" style attack, but consistency and mobility seem to be the IG's motive. Which I'm fine with. I'm sure I'll need it for flying monsters.

This was the weapon I decided I was going to main, and I might still. The savage axe attack being tied to your focus strike just makes sense, more than it did in World. Everything feels more relaxing in terms up the "power ups" since they don't expire as fast.

Whoo boy, this thing feels nice. Axe mode feels so much more like a viable mode instead of something you're grounded to once your sword mode is finished. And sword mode feels so much more like a reward for hitting your axe attacks. Chaining the mode swaps is very easy, as well.

Being able to move while shelling is amazing. Quality seems to have been added to every pore of the weapon. Focus strike is easy to land and really does a lot of damage. I hope this let's GL stand up a bit prouder and make a name for itself this time.

Lance feels much faster now, and more brutal to boot. I like how we don't have to hop to restart our stab combo, but I don't like how the counter block isn't on demand with a single input. I'll get by, I'm sure. I hope it resonates with people better this time.

I only failed a hunt with this weapon, but it was mostly because I didn't understand anything new about it. And to be fair, I'm still not sure I do. Echo bubbles give you a lot more DPS which I'm a fan of. And the couple moves that let you stack up notes in a quick burst are welcome.

Holy moly, the oppressive nature of the hammer has never been better. I don't think I got hit a single time during the hunt, just because the monster was constantly KO'd or on the floor. So good, chef's kiss. Big bang seems easier to hit, but also let's you continue the combo. Rejoice.

I didn't like dual blades in World, and I still kinda don't. I just don't feel a lot of depth to this weapon, and you can succeed just by button mashing at times. It's fun, but I just want to sink my teeth into a weapon.
