Had an interesting "slow down to go faster" #running revelation today.
The hill climb outside of town has a demoralizingly steep section. Instead of burning myself out running up it, I just hiked it as fast as I could and ended up getting a PR. Plus I had gas in the tank to cruise back down!

I recently checked out a trail that the guidebook author described as the finest single track descent in the Columbia basin.
Grateful for the cloud cover and unseasonably cool conditions, because I definitely would not have seen any rattlesnakes through the tall grass!

Grew up going to national parks with my family but the bug REALLY hit when I was 22 and spontaneously applied to a job working at the Tuolumne Meadows campground in Yosemite. It 100% changed my life. #parkchat

Tried something new over the weekend by participating in a 12 hour overnight running event. My goal was to make it to 7am and do a 50k, and I was able to succeed at both of those. Final tally was 33 miles and 6,000' of climbing. Here's to doing hard things! #running #trailrunning #ultramarathon

Cloud's Rest is so cool! I have been up there a few times. Once was an overnight stay on the summit. I discovered the next morning that half dome casts its morning shadow on glacier point!
