They won’t have to take it back. This kind of stuff really stuck with us when you had at most 1-2 major events like this in a 3 month period. Trump operates in gish gallop mode and will be flooding us with even more triggering events. We won’t remember Matt Gaetz in 2-3 scaramuccis.

I’m not so sure that it was about COVID and not so sure anybody but Biden could have won. It could be that COVID brought out the extra 8-10 million voters that made Biden win, but when we don’t have that as a motivator and those 8-10 million don’t come out to vote, then we end up with Trump.

There … now you have it. I’ve seen all the memes asking what those Germans were doing in 1938 and how Hitler could rise to power. We are seeing history repeat itself (surprise surprise) when the voices of reason are silenced.

Absolutely correct! Maintaining infrastructure at a social media website (that has actually fallen into complete chaos and anarchy) is much different then doing things that are meaningful to peoples lives (e.g. administering social security, administering healthcare, ensuring consumer safety.

ohhhh boyyy … I didn’t see a step whereby they would confer with each agency on the policies that they thought could be cut to make sure that they weren’t severing a policy that was important. This is inane and as you say, a recipe for disaster.

Do you think they could write their policies to allow that while preventing male transgenders in the women’s bathrooms … since we know how proper those Republican women are! Hypocrisy seems to motivate them and not inhibit them.

I hope you are right … but I’m not so sure. There is such a strong sphere of mis- and dis-information that it is easy for MAGA to keep the identity politics raging to get out their vote. This time plenty of people were willing to vote for Trump when it could harm them (latino voters, women, etc.).

He needs to take that immunity out for a ride along the block and see what he can do to have a lasting effect … he does have Seal Team 6 at his disposal, and there are clear and present dangers to our country showing up pretty much daily (I think Trump is naming new cabinet members each day).

They will strongly object … and then when that doesn’t work, they will write a stern letter to Trump. When that doesn’t work, they’ll say they did everything they good to protect young girls from predators like Matt Gaetz.

And what if trump just says I don’t care, these are my choices. Is the Senate going to send him a strongly worded letter? Are they going to admonish him? He doesn’t seem to care about our laws or the constitution America votes for a dictator … as we say FAFO … and we’re coming into the FO phase.
