I moved to Oregon from Texas just over a month ago. Still riding the high from living in a modern western democracy again. Just working (with my much higher minimum wage) and keeping my news input to the minimum needed.

I'll argue that perhaps it may be wishful thinking that "the people don't want a king." Enough people do, in fact, want a dictator to enable what we've seen not once but twice. It took a global pandemic to win. Let us not forget that.

Circling back on this (and my previous reply) to humbly state that I stand corrected. The vote to reopen the government with very little aside from lip-service from the United States government is quite on-brand from the GOP-lite establishment "Democrats".

Meh, I'm gonna need more quality sources than just "insiders". There seems to be a lot of wishful thinking on behalf of the establishment "Democrats" especially in the wake of our lurch forward in dismantling the DNC.

Still shitty, no argument here. But, even going by data from '20, all those states have roughly 5 million more people than California. So, again, the fact that 40 million people only get 2 senators while the other 44 million get more than 40 senators is wholly inappropriate.
