I can’t bring myself to read a NYT opinion piece, but I wonder if part of the divide is the fact that one generation still holds a particular ideal about what America is and younger generations find that ideal corny and detached from what the country is and always has been

I also wonder if there is a lag, where decisions were made before he won the election making it harder to go back on them
