As we face incredibly hard times that threaten public health & health equity, I continue to be so proud of my students, who are doing outstanding work! We've had an amazing weekend with one paper going online and another being accepted! So incredibly proud of them! ✨

Suppression of critical inquiry, science, and creative expression are key methods in authoritative states. I grew up with them. My career wouldn't have been possible without moving to the US. The opportunity to learn, teach & work towards a world that supports health for all is worth fighting for.

In addition to destroying science & medical research which has direct impact on people's lives, this undermines universities AND crashes the economy. The idea that this will "save" money is FALSE. "In fiscal year 2023, every $1 of NIH funding generated approximately $2.46 of economic activity"
