(I won't disagree with about he back row, but ... ) It's still a young starting XV. Only four over 30, and two of those are only barely over 30. He's got six players there under 25.

The lack of tidal projects amazes me. Second biggest tidal range in the world, and nothing .... why? I guess the nuclear power industry in the UK is very powerful, particular when you consider links to weapons companies.

Hardly any SMRs in operation anywhere in the world at the moment. They were floated here by the Liberal/Nationals coalition, but debunked because of the decades they will take to become commercially viable even in the best scenario. (Of course the UK is different)

Small modular reactors have promise. But we found they’re unlikely to help Australia hit net zero by 2050
Small modular reactors promise to make nuclear power cheaper and safer. But our new report shows they’re still a long way off.

But billions of pounds on unproven non-renewables technology reads like a shift in priorities. I mean, they're not going to spend billions on a Severn Barrage or a tidal lagoon plan for Swansea, are they?

Is the push for renewables over?

Proper healthcare and preventative treatments are incompatible with capitalism's goal of profit maximization.

The profit motive needs to be entirely removed from the realm of healthcare.

We're also bombarded by what people "say" rather than what they "do". This is another liars charter ... flooding the zone with BS, safe in the knowledge that the media will report it. The media is no longer interested in what's actually happening, they are more interested in what influences say.

The BBC lost its way when it started to report people’s opinions, not facts. Because opinions matter more than reality, liars get the same coverage as experts explaining complex stuff. “What do you think?” became the most important question, not “what are the facts?”

This is all on the back of the efforts of the US-owned Daily Telegraph. Trump squeezed $16m out of Paramount's owners and it is the same people behind the Telegraph ... Larry Ellison's son and Gerry Cardinale. #FollowTheMoney

RedBird Capital’s $2 billion power play: Meet Gerry Cardinale, the private equity kingmaker behind the Paramount–Skydance deal
Private equity firms have been making moves in Hollywood for some time, but Redbird's stake in the Paramount deal is by far the largest to date.

Tomkins has been in good form this season (red), but then so has Thomas. Depends on the game plan, I suppose.
