I'm late to the party, but that's how I roll. Show up late, hide in the kitchen, leave early... Anyway, Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #930,401! So I'm officially a "Certified Bluesky Elder". My Internet beard is as grey as my IRL beard.

Just dug an 11.5 year old stick of rock out of the back room. It's still good! Very good. That's probably the best thing about high desert lack of humidity.

I found the source for my PhD thesis... and other things I guess I thought were useful to store with it? Who'd know.

With indices of geomagnetic activity returning to baseline levels, not all is "quiet" in space weather... E.g., radiation belt intensity (for highly relativistic electrons) is expected to increase further with a possible bump in satellite charging hazard. Excuse the ugly graphics, I didn't make it.

I get excited when I see the geoelectric field move from reporting in mV/km to V/km. Don't worry, nothing is going to fry, this is a mild one. This year has started to catch us up on all the space weather we've been missing...

I heard that we might be expecting some space weather impacts in the next couple of days. Despite being off work today I decided to do my own research and take some data

Science update of the day: My toddler's rendition of a crustacean. (He may have had assistance from his other parent) I am very proud.

So this is bluesky huh. Just to make sure folks don't get the wrong idea about how insightful, professional and sciencey this account will be...
