2013 - When Wendy Davis (Abortion Barbie) was filibustering against restrictive laws against abortions in Austin, TX. I couldn't be there and the capital was full of passionate protestors. That's when I joined Twitter.

Thank you for sharing this! It blows my mind how queer history is left out of teaching history. Learning about Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld and the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft intensified my passion for protecting transgender and queer communities. 🛡️🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🛡️

Yes! Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld was the head of the center. He was Jewish and openly gay. Today's WPATH Standards of Care are based on the work he had with him. He died of a heart attack 2 years after his office was looted and he was forced into exile. 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 #HistoryErased
