Food drops are dangerous and ineffective. Heavy pallets falling from the sky injure and kill the people desperate for their contents and once landed, there is no means to distribute fairly and calmly. There is, frankly, no more dehumanising way to distribute aid.

Despite the ubiquitous images of sad, weak and helpless survivors of disaster and conflict that are designed to encourage donations, people in crisis are often desperate and at times messy.
